Madsic was formed in late 2003, shortly after storming into the local music scene, bringing with them sounds with touches of metal, hardcore, and industrial blended with darkness and showmanship. This band’s influences include such bands as Slipknot, Chimaira, Machine Head, Soulfly, and Hatebreed.
Madsic has accumulated quite a list of accomplishments over it’s 6 year history. This band has played shows from Miami to Tallahassee, and is currently undergoing plans for an East Coast tour.
In 2004, Madsic won second place at Ragfest 3 beating out over 25 bands. The local press has also found an interest in this Ft. Lauderdale based band. Rag Magazine did a two page interview on Madsic in December 2004.
In January 2005, 2 Madsic tunes were included on a BMX Video from BMXvideo.net. In April 2005, they performed at a Major Label Showcase in Tallahassee for Hollywood, Epic, and Dreamscape Records. And in May 2005, an interview at Mega Metal Online. Their song Buried In Skin was included on Downline Record’s New Rock Nation Compilation CD and their tune Tremor was on the Best Of The Best In The Northwest Comp CD.
In 2006, their song Distance Of Hate appeared on the Sonic Onslaught Vol. 2 Compilation CD along with bands such as Soil, Mushroomhead, Powerman 5000, Vanilla Ice, and Sworn Enemy. Also in 2006, they received endorsement through Switch music out of Los Angeles.
In 2007, they began getting radio station recognition with airplay and an interview on Metalkast Radio out of Minnesota and Raven’s Eggs and Kegs show out of Colorado. They were also interviewed online through Hollywood Music TV in Canada.
In 2008, an online contest called Metal Cage Fight 2008 done by MetalEvolution.net, decided by fan votes, was won by Madsic and they were dubbed by the station “Masters Of Metal 2008”.
Also more radio airplay in 2008 included regular rotation and an interview on Caya Radio, airplay on NVasion Radio, Break Thru Radio, the Psycho Realms Show on WMNF 88.5 FM in Tampa, and Dark Cloud Radio.net. 2008 also found Madsic on the main stage on the first year of the Kryptonite Metalfest at Tobacco Road in Miami, one of America’s oldest and most historic venues.
In honor of the show they received an interview in Miami’s New Times Magazine.
Their song Distance Of Hate was featured as first track on Vitruvian Records’ Florida Brutal Backhand Compilation CD
Madsic fans took to the band so much that they started building fan sites for them on My Space, the Official Madsic Fan Site based in Tampa, Florida, and the Madsic South Carolina Street Team site.
Already in 2009, they have played the second installment of The Kryptonite Metalfest, and performed at Lollapalooza’s Locofest South 2009 with such great bands as Mudvayne, Nonpoint, and Hed PE. More Madsic press was found with an interview in the Florida Sun Sentinel newspaper. Their song Outside Myself was included on Vitruvian Records’ SWFL Music Scene Compilation CD, and they have been picked to perform at Pulp Live in the first year of the Mayday Music Festival.
This driven group of musicians has no limit of energy and is determined to conquer the underground music scene.
