The band name is German for "Attack/Storm of Troops".
Vangard von Rimburg stated in a 2010 interview that the band does not glorify war, fascism, genocide, etc., but rather finds these topics particularly suitable for this type of brutal music. Parallels from his personal life are also incorporated into the lyrics, only decipherable by insiders. Nevertheless, his ultimate goal was for the lyrics to sound evil and fit the music.
Furthermore, he stated that Weigand and Alexander von Meilenwald had, by then, become full members.
In the early stages of their existence, the band referred to their style as "War Metal".
