Johann Wolfgang Pozoj came to existence in 2004 by merging of two “brother” bands – Intoxicate and Grob (Grave).
In 2006, they released the first part of their trilogy named “Birth of Pozoj”, for Progressive Attack Records.
The original band members were: Darko Simunovic (vocals), Filip Fabek (guitar and programming), Marko Balaban (guitar), Domagoj Soic (bass guitar and backing vocals), Nicolas Zio (keyboards), Luka Kovac (drums).
In 2007, Ivan Borcic joined the band as the new vocal and lyricist and Slaven Milic joined as the new bass player. In this time, the band started work on the second part of their trilogy, “Escape of Pozoj”. In 2009 they began recording “Escape of Pozoj”, and self-released it in the summer of the same year, in 1000 copies.
