Decrepit Monolith was founded in 2012 by Baal after some years away from the live music scene, in order to bring about a new black metal act with influences from Gorgoroth, Marduk, Behemoth, early Dimmu and Cradle he recruited former band mate Thave on drums. Long term friend Erebus joined on bass having the same passion and drive to create a dark and brutal live band.

The band stepped out to support the legendary NWOBHM band Blitzkrieg for a varied night of music in their debut performance. Taking the venue by storm Decrepit Monolith played a brutal set clad in leather body armour and draped in corpsepaint and chains and with it the live 'show' was born.
The Live Ritual
As well as creating dark and brutal black metal with influences from death and other genres the bands other core objective was to deliver a full live experience, Over the next few months the set evolved to enhance the custom leather body armour with large wooden crucifixes adorned with chains, back drop and stage panels adorned with a split ram's head. Blood is now used on all performances and full lighting rig is being built to further enhance the experience of a Decrepit Monolith show.
Recording
Work began on the band's debut EP in September 13, with a host of new tracks that show the progression of the band over the last year and the evolution of the music it is expected to be complete by the end of the year. 2014 will bring with it a touring schedule in support of the EP and to further spread the message of the Monolith.
