Heavy Gloom band from North London and Brighton, England, formed in 2015.. conceived by Matt + Jake following the end of previous band Dead Existence and joined immediately by Oliver following the end of War Wolf, the trio recruited drummer / multi-instrumentalist Julia following the end of her previous outfit Throne. The 4 original members then went on to write and record debut album Welcome To Nothing in a matter of months, and began playing numerous live shows on the back of it. The band then went back into the studio to record their sophomore album Fed Into The Nihilist Engine, again at Priory Studios with engineer Greg Chandler, and this was released through London based label New Heavy Sounds. More touring ensued and a track for a split release with Nottingham’s Dystopian Future Movies was recorded with Wayne Adams at London’s Bear Bites Horse studio. Again, more shows were played including an appearance at Shepherd’s Bush Empire as support to Ministry in 2019. After this Julia left the band to move to another city with her new family and the remaining members recruited Brighton based Sam Chase on drums / keys. This new incarnation of the band played their first set supporting Church Of The Cosmic Skull at London’s 229 venue and then embarked on a short tour before live streaming set from The Black Heart in Camden via the Hotel Radio network in June 2020 (one of the first heavy UK bands to live stream during the Covid pandemic). New material has since been written and recorded and should see the light of day as the band’s 3rd full length album sometime in 2022.
