Tamerlan Empire, Australian black metal band from Sydney, was formed by the drummer Khan in 2011. From the early stages of the band, Khan’s focus was on playing an aggressive atmospheric style of black metal that was unique to Tamerlan Empire. Guitarist Ghorr joined and together with Khan started to write the first Tamerlan Empire music.
Khan, taking influences from his home country Uzbekistan, started to introduce the traditional music into the song writing process. Soon after this, Ferus joined as a second guitarist and was immediately drawn to the task of fusing traditional Middle Eastern music into black metal.
