2007 - This year started with the recording of the new album, drummer Calle Bäckström took the position as session drummer (he plays together with two of the Sobre Nocturne members in the DM band Cimmerian Dome). We decided to play live at the beginning of summer and the sessions started, Jan Strandh is back as session Vocalist in the band, Erika Roos have contributed with amazing vocals. For the gig we gathered some friends and played as an 13 man strong band, hopefully we can do as many gigs as possible with this set.
2006 - Initially we were about to record two albums, so the members of Sobre Nocturne made one concept-album and one with more “normal” songs, as the year came to an end we decided to put some of the songs together and only make one album. The working title is Omnituentis Ater Quercus. Katarina Lilja is unfortunately no longer in the band, she later took the position as Vocalissa in the band Therion and did an amazing contribution (nothing else was expected) to their latest album “Gothic Kabbalah”.
2004-2005 these years was quite an vacuum for Sobre Nocturne, music was made, and we dealt with a few labels, but it ran out in the sand. Stefan Lundgren wen´t to study Classical Guitar in Spain one year autumn 2005 to spring 2006, and there started to compose new music.
2003 Preparing for the new recording of the new cd… Sobre Nocturne welcomes Daniel Olofsson (Cimerian Dome, Soleil) on keyboard, Karl Nyhlin (Argento) and S (not yet to be official) on drums. For the live Line-Up we also welcomes Erika Roos (Siebenbürgen) Vocals, Thomas Ringquist Viola. They will also make contributions on the recording.
2002 Shattered Fields (promo) was recorded with session jazz-drummer Isak Andersson. During the recording it stood clear that guitarist/vocalist Jan Strandh would leave the band to focus on his other projects. Anders Ericson (Beyond Twilight, Argento, Klokus) took up in the end of the recordings for the lead.
2001 Work with new material was the only thing that occurred the SN this year.
2000 Serpentine Dreamweaver (CD) released. Katarina Lilja (Soleil) was put to the steady line up. Record company got economical problems around the time for the release, and short after that they went out of business, so almost no promotion made the record sell only about 3000 copies.
1999 Recording and composing for the record “Serpentine Dreamweaver”, Guitarist Jan Strandh (Twilight, Act, Master Massive) became a member as a lead guitarist and one of the vocalists. Kim Arnell (Morifade) on drums, only as a session instrumentalist. The recordings took place in Norrkoking between december -98 and march -99, the mixing and mastering was in late july.
1998 Chapter 2/Rejection April -98 (demo), Jörgen Åhman left the band before the recordings to focus on his pop-career. For the first time everything was recorded without pre-programmings, real male-choirs was added for the first time. After mailing a small quantity of promos many record companies showed their interest in the band, the record-deal went to the small Swedish based LNP in July -98. Main man Stefan Lundgren moved from the town he lived in… and got new line up for the upcoming recording
1997 Mare Cocurbit spring -97 (demo) was recorded by Stefan Lundgren only, programmed drums and synthesisers, and session bass by Markus Sundström. Un-named nov. -97 (demo), Mikael Öberg (Fuel), Jörgen Åhman and Markus was added to the Line-Up and SN attended a festival in north of Sweden!
1996 Start. Sobre Nocturne sprung out in the north west of Spain a day when it was too hot and the air was too damp, the first song was made under these circumstances. It was ironically called “I can´t see the light”. More songs was written back in Sweden. The intention was at first to make gloomy music without the classical rock rhythm-section.
