The seed of Rimthurs was planted as an unstructured idea in the mid-nineties as I discovered Black-Metal and took a more solid form some year later as I learned to play the guitar. At first it naturally sounded like pure crap but the more I learned to master the instrument the better it sounded. From the very first beginning I decided to write all lyrics only in Swedish as they all deal about Nordic myth and folklore. The music was, and of course still is, rather raw and fast yet melodic Black-Metal. Some test-recordings of songs was made on an old 4-channel cassette porta and in 1998 the first "real" recording "Bortom Nidafjдll" (Beyond the Nida-mountains) was made with the same equipment.
