Rippikoulu is the first death metal band singing in Finnish. Originally was a punk/metal hybrid but as a few band members changed evolved into metal band. When band's guitarist Marko Henriksson died in 1995, Rippikoulu was on hold for a while. But the band wasn't the same without Marko therefore they ultimately split-up in 1995. "Rippikoulu" is Finnish for "confirmation class".
