Затяжное соперничество между двумя половинками классического состава Angra – группой Shaaman, объединившей трех изгнанников из коллектива, и собственно Angra, собравшими новый состав – все-таки решилось в пользу последних, поскольку не так давно Shaaman объявили о самороспуске. Но перед этим «мятежники» умудрились основательно повлиять на стиль своих бывших коллег, поскольку на “Aurora Consurgens” Angra во многом пользуются теми же рецептами, что Shaaman на своем последнем альбоме “Ritual”. А именно, Angra внесли в классический пауэр-метал солидную долю модерн-металлического звучания. Так далеко, как на “Ritual”, музыканты не заходят, поэтому старая добрая Angra узнается здесь без труда. Однако благодаря этим нововведениям группа стала звучать гораздо свежее, чем на предыдущем альбоме “Temple Of Shadows”, и на порядок разнообразнее. Возьмите для примера альтернативный хит “The Course Of Nature”, скоростной чисто пауэрный боевик “The Voice Commanding You” и финальную акустическую балладу “Abandoned Fate” – разница между этими треками просто колоссальная. А ведь на альбоме еще есть и прогрессив, и симфонические фрагменты, и бразильский фолк, одним словом, скучать во время прослушивания “Aurora Consurgens” вам точно не придется. При этом Angra вовсе не теряют свою индивидуальность – какой бы стиль группа ни «примеряла», вы безошибочно определите авторство буквально после минуты звучания. Похоже, для нового состава группы это пока что лучший альбом – так легко, непринужденно и разнообразно Angra не звучали со времен “Fireworks” (1998). Жаль только, что бывших коллег к новым поискам эта работа уже не подстегнет… (Диск предоставлен компанией Soyuz Music) |

И вот Ангра снова нанесла удар, да и какой! Дала пинка под зад всем пауэрщикам. Этот альбом стал неким пособием, как надо правильно скрещивать пауэр и прогрессив. Тут можно услышать и бразильский колорит, и прогрессив, и, конечно же, скоростной пауэр с невероятными гитарными запилами. Открывается альбом прогрессивной и колоритной «Course оf Nature», далее идёт мощнейший боевик «The Voice Commanding You», «Ego Painted Gray» даёт немного отдохнуть от скоростей, но всё время держит в напряжении, а вот после неё полное расслабление можно получить от «Breaking Ties», мелодичная, душевная и красивая баллада. Сразу же Ангровцы набирают бешеную скорость в «Salvation: Suicide», и продолжают её до «Window to Nowhere», разбавив это дело прогом. Дальше идут два прогрессивных трэка, и после - одна из изюминок альбома, «Scrwam Your Heart Out»: убойные прогрессивные партии гитары, наверное, одни из лучших, когда-либо написанных Ангрой! И закрывает эту замечательную пластинку акустическая баллада «Abandoned Fate», которая подошла для этого как нельзя кстати. |

Angra совершили манёвр, применённый многими коллективами, включая Slayer, Moonspell и Cradle Of Filth, в этом году - возвращение к стилистике раннего периода творчества, но на новом качественном уровне. На "Aurora Consurgens" много прог-металических ходов, во многом за счёт гитарных партий в стиле Dream Theater, но под плотным "слоем" пауэра. Это, в первую очередь, пауэр-метал альбом. Практически весь материал альбома ровный и сильный, особенно выделяются "The Course Of Nature", "So Near So Far" и "Passing By". Единственный недостаток, кстати, частый "грех" альбомов Angra, - слабый финальный трек. Но, в целом, хороший альбом, однако мне более разноплановый и проговый предыдущий "Temple Of Shadows" понравился больше. Хотя это, безусловно, вопрос исключительно личных пристрастий. |

"Aurora Consurgens" - наименее пауэрный альбом Angra. Нет, скоростные пауэрные песни здесь, конечно, присутствуют, но вот добрая половина диска выдержана уже, скорее, в хэви-металлическом ключе, разумеется, разбавленном некоторым количеством симфо-проговых элементов. Группа заметно преобразилась в мелодическом плане, результатом чего стал лучший на сегодняшний день альбом Angra. |
