«Of Decay And Desire» – это третий альбом немецких пауэрщиков Dark At Dawn. Это не слишком популярная группа, однако исполняющая весьма интересный вид пауэра, который я бы охарактеризовал как дарк пауэр метал. Музыка крайне оригинальная и ни на кого не похожая. Качество записи выверено до каждой детали, ведь за него отвечали Энди Классен и всем известный Мика Юсилла из Finnvox Studio. Внимание сразу приковывает приятный тёмно-синий буклет готического типа. Тексты песен обладают некой концепцией - в них рассказывается о странной любви главного героя к мёртвой богине, которая приводит героя в ад, и в конце концов оказывается что его возлюбленная самый настоящий дьявол. В целом, лирика очень депрессивная и мрачная. Вокалист поёт очень хриплым и низким голосом, и сразу же можно подумать о похожести его на Криса Больтендаля (Grave Digger), но буду вынужден разочаровать - Торстен «Бадди» Толрауш намного брутальнее Больтендаля, и его вокал под час напоминает самый настоящий гроулинг. Это очень ограничительная черта рассматриваемой группы, поскольку такой своеобразный тип вокала не всем может приглянутся, но вот как раз поклонникам могило-копателей «Of Decay And Desire» весьма рекомендуется. Сам же музыкальный материал представляет собой пауэр, направленный прежде всего на драйвовые гитарные риффы, часто вызывающие ассоциации с Brainstorm. На диске равномерно располагаются как быстрые забойные вещи, так и средне темповые мощные номера. В особенности я бы выделил необычайно угарные боевики «The Sleepwalker», «End Of Ice» и «Maid Of Stone». Также заслуживает внимания великолепная баллада «Luna», с потрясающей соло партией. Элементы дум метала хорошо себя проявили в композициях «Forever» и «Soulitude». В классной теме «One-Night Fall» можно найти даже треш метал. И хотя альбом не совсем идеальный и в нём есть несколько проходных номеров, однако я бы посоветовал обязательно ознакомится с ним всем любителям жёсткого и мрачного пауэра… |

У-у-у-ххх!!! Обдало ледяным холодом. Да, музыка этих немцев действительно соответствует определению “Dark Metal”. И правда, никаких соплей-слюней, никакого дебильного восторга и оптимизма, и главное, никаких рожков и дудочек. Плотный монолитный стафф, недюжинная, кстати, мелодика и просто умопомрачительный вокал Торстена Кольрауша, представляющий собой симбиоз Криса Болтендаля и покойного Хеннера из Squealer. А самое-самое заключается в том, что этот-то вокал и, сейчас пойдут банальности, подходит данной ледяной музыке. Символична и обложка на которой изображена разорванная или разбитая женская фотография, а может и портрет. Что-то выделять из музыкального ряда не имеет смысла, данный продукт необходимо слушать целиком, правда лично мне он начал немного надоедать. Если более-менее быстрые композиции ещё классные, то тягучие медляки немного, что называется, грузят неокрепшую детскую психику. А так очень даже ничего, для общего развития послушать можно. |
