«El Rostro de la Muerte» - последний на данный момент альбом ветеранов трэша Hirax. Группа продолжила развиваться по пути, начатому на «The New Age of Terror», хотя и не без некоторого возвращения к корням. С одной стороны звук стал ещё тяжелей, с другой - вернулись и крайне высокие скорости, и композиции длиной в две-три минуты, хотя в целом их продолжительность все же куда больше, чем на первых работах команды. К тому же, наряду с новыми композициями, из которых как наиболее удачные выделю забойную "Flesh and Blood" и бесспорно лучшую вещь с альбома "Satan's Fall", команда, во-первых, возродила свой былой хит с «Hate, Fear and Power» под названием "Blind Faith", а во-вторых, перезаписала пару песен с EP (а именно "Chaos and Brutality" и "Brocken Neck"). Из достоинств работы отмечу также сильно разнообразившийся вокал: Катон теперь не только исполняет в речетативной манере на одной-двух нотах, но также и поет довольно низким, мелодичным голосом, а когда надо, ещё и вовсю вопит. Да и в целом песни на диске довольно разнообразны: есть как быстрые и крайне агрессивные композиции (см. "Horrified", "The Laws of Temptation"), так и более медленные и мелодичные, вроде заглавного трека. И нельзя не отметить обилие интродукций, вступлений к песням, как правило выраженных либо в череде каких-то загадочных звуков, либо в чьих-то весьма экспрессивных высказываниях. В целом, очень грамотная и весьма интересная работа. Hirax уверенно возвращаются на тяжелую сцену, и слушать их - одно удовольствие. |
