Говорят что трагедия, приключившаяся среди окружения человека, помогает ему встрепенуться, собраться с мыслями и начать вести свои дела в новом ключе. К сожалению, таким вот ужасным способом был записан один из самых сильных альбомов группы Kiss, их шестнадцатый студийник "Revenge". Дело в том, что в процессе записи этого альбома, от долгой и мучительной борьбы с раком скончался Эрик Карр. Музыканты приняли совершенно правильное решение - ради доброй памяти Эрика они с удвоенной силой принялись шлифовать новый диск до состояния абсолютного идеала. Помогал им в этом тезка покойного, новый барабанщик Kiss Эрик Сингер, оказавшийся более чем адекватной заменой Карру. Очевидно из-за наплыва чувств, у Джина и Пола проснулась какая то необъяснимая тяга к идеализму, в результате которой на "Revenge" не попал не то что ни один плохой номер, более того - две трети материала являются абсолютно готовыми хитами, хоть сейчас способными заинтересовать любого поклонника тяжелого рока. Для абсолютного счастья всех фанатов "Revenge" еще и хвастается кристально чистой записью и отличным сведением, благодаря которому уже сильно к тому времени устаревший хэви-глэм начал в полную силу играть новыми красками. Переходим к песням. Первое что замечаешь - впервые за всю историю Kiss альбом открывается песней в исполнении Джина Симмонса. Более того - эта же песня выходит первым хит-синглом! Впрочем, ничего удивительного - впервые лет эдак за десять Джин представил на диске материал совершенно на равных конкурирующий с традиционно хитовыми песнями Пола Стэнли. Тут выделяются уже упомянутый мрачный и тяжелый боевик "Uhnoly", чертовски сексуальный номер "Domino" и совершенно беспредельно раздолбайский "Spit", правда, спетый с Полом в дуэте. Еще один дуэт ожидает слушателя в самом ярком хите Kiss чуть ли не со времен 70-ых - настоящем мега позитивном рок-гимне "God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You". Ну и среди произведений "эксклюзивно" от мистера Стэнли хочется отметить энергичный гимн женскому стриптизу "Take It Off", злобную и яростную песню "Heart Of Chrome", на удивление нежную и красивую балладу "Every Time I Look At You", и, наконец, совершенно не поддающийся игнорированию хитовейший трек "I Just Wanna". В целом, итоги будут такие - мой самый любимый альбом Kiss за всю их долгую историю. Идеальный глэмовый альбом, вышедший как раз к моменту впадения в анабиоз самого жанра. Must have, в конце концов! |
