Любимцы Earache Records стали веселее на новом альбоме – должен признаться, меня Evile убеждают где-то лишь до половины «Infected Nations». Плотный звук, отличное композиторское чувство, техника исполнения – но чувство, выражаемое как «Wow!», держится не очень долго, да и вызвано, в первую очередь, такой метал-оргией заглавного трека. Не стану утверждать, что всё отстой и гумус: альбом сделан очень вкусно, возможно и обрадует многих поклонников этого жанра. К продукции не придраться вообще. Не столько понимание, что Evile не были бы возможны без Metallica и Testament, сколько ощущение чего-то типизированного, пробирочного, как и в случае с хвалёнными Warbringer, мешает отдаться этому урагану. Оченно рекомендую боевики с альбома: «Infected Nations», «Devoid of Thought», «Time No More», самая интересная композиция – это, пожалуй, «Metamorphasis». В завершение слушателей и слушательниц ожидает длинный инструментал (чем нынче мало кто из трэшеров балуется), но из любви к правде надо сказать, что «Позвоните в Тулу» у ранней Metallica было и того драматичней. Хотя судить об этом нужно всё-таки каждому и каждой для себя, тем более, что малоизвестная банда вызвала к себе интерес в тру-кругах, обзаведясь своим персональным великомучеником – Майком Александром (да будет Аллах к нему милостив).
Отличные соло, харизматичная манера пения у Мэта Дрэка. Симпатичный альбом, несмотря на все косяки, вызванные ревайвалом трэш-метала. |

Первый альбом Evile мной был незаслуженно обласкан - очень приятно было слушать старомодный трэш-метал от молодёжи, и поэтому, думаю, не я один накинул ему балл-другой. Но второй альбом - это уже время новых свершений, нахождения своего собственного звучания и стиля.
Если на "Enter the Grave" англичане разрывались сразу между всеми монстрами стиля, то на "Infected Nations" ориентир был выбран более конкретно. "Йаметаллико!" - решили братья Дрейки и бросились соответствовать. Бодрые риффы в стиле молодого жеребчика были разбавлены медленными и среднетемповыми ходами, мелодий стало больше, вокал стал очень похож на голос Хэтфилда периода "Justice", ребята попытались добавить музыке разнообразия и глубины. Получилось ли у них? Лишь местами. Аранжировкам не хватает изысканности и сложности, иногда Evile просто не знают, чем заполнить переходы между риффами, фирменной "металликовской" дотошности и изысканности просто нет. Впрочем, думаю, грех предъявлять подобные претензии, ведь нет среди англичан композитора уровня Хэтфилда и музыкального гения, подобного Бёртону. Кёрка Хэммета тоже нет, так что соляки особой притягательностью похвастаться тоже не могут.
Здесь есть свои хиты: это и заглавная вещь, и "Plague to End All Plagues", и инструментал. Звук записан вполне неплохо, хоть компрессия и могла бы быть менее злобной. Хороший альбом, где-то между шестёркой и семёркой, но за старательность можно и натянуть до 4+. |
