Позволю себе несколько отклониться от темы рецензирования... Всегда поражали люди, которые пытаются пространно, с видом великих специалистов рассуждать о высоких материях, о тенденциях в музыке, о каких-то аналогиях и сравнениях... при этом порой не знающие даже самых простых понятий из сферы их рассуждения. Воинствующие неучи... Кто мешает оценить музыку, не загромождая рецензию анализом диалектики развития группы и т.д. и т.п., особенно если историю группы толком не знаешь... Итого имеем рецензию, в которой человек "забыл" указать, что на самом деле данный релиз не является новым альбомом -- это всего лишь переигранные вещи со старых альбомов группы. Переиграно весьма недурственно, равно как весьма недурственны и сами песни, которые остались практически нетронутыми. Ради записи этого альбома в банду вернулся гитарист Алекс Школьник, чьи соляки просто удесятеряют удовольствие от прослушивания "First Strike Still Deadly"... Переигранная мастерами классика трэша. Что еще к этому добавить?... |

Вопрос все тот же: что выбрать? То ли пойти за большими по пять вчера…
Это в том смысле, что Metallica в лучшие годы уделывала весь Testament вместе взятый по всем статьям. Но ведь с другой стороны лучшие годы этой самой Металлики подошли к своему завершению в 1991-ом. А у Testament они почти что не проходили. То есть, получается сегодня по три, но маленькие.
В альбоме 2001-го года группа вернулась в thrash после долгого death-ового периода. Возвращение удалось в той степени, в которой Testament вообще удается thrash. Как уже было сказано, хуже чем Металлике, но лучше чем ничего. Ритмы по-прежнему несколько однообразные, а соло по-прежнему удивительно красивые. Вокал явно слизанный у Хэтфилда, что не может не огорчать. Напор есть, мелодий мало, и те в основном в гитарных партиях. Жить, в принципе, разрешено. Но мучает один вопрос: может, все-таки пойти за большими по пять вчера?
