Металлические Макароны по-Флотски. Ребята просто круты! Записали дебютную пластинку в год выпуска таких монстров, как "Мастер оф Паппетс" и "Рейн ин Блад", а рубят не слабее! По звучанию и композиционности, правда, несколько напоминает "Райд зе Лайтнинг" Металлики, что в очередной раз напоминает о ранге Хэтфилда и Ко. в те годы. Тем не менее, по количеству мелодичных вставок на акустических гитарах Флотсы перещеголяли своих коллег по жанру, не принеся при этом в жертву жестскость и рубилово. А уж у вокалиста Эрика А.К. получается драть глотку не хуже Роба Хэлфорда.
Убивает вещь "Дер Фюрер" (в которой описывается разрушительная миссия Гитлера) - ребята бодрыми голосами скандируют "Зиг Хайль!" К счастью на них не погнали ту же бочку, что ударили по бортам Слэйер за их "Ангела Смерти". Флотсов, наверное, просто не заметили!
Как известно, Джейсон Ньюстед после записи этой пластинки ушел в уже упомянутую Металлику. Так вот, что интересно – тандем Ульрих-Хэтфилд настолько прочно установил монополию на сочинительство, что креативность Ньюстеда ни на "Джастис фор Олл", ни на альбоме 91-го года не бросается ни в уши, ни в глаза. А ведь этот первый басист Флотсов написал для "Десивера" подавлющее количество текстов и большое количество музыки. Зарыли талант, товарищи трэшера!

При первом прослушивании показалось, что это типичный треш начала восьмидесятых, правда с лучшим уровнем записи и более чистым звуком. Однако, где-то после третьего раза начинаешь замечать довольно интересные моменты, которые редко встретишь у коллег этих американцев. Впрочем, ближе к содержанию. Играют ребятки довольно быстро, частенько напрашивается ярлык "speed", и вспоминается первый альбом Living Death. Есть пара восьмиминутных полубаллад, что вносит некоторое разнообразие в материал, хотя и звучат они не слишком удачно. В такие моменты понимаешь, что подобные акустические проигрыши ты слышал еще у Метлы образца 84-го, но особой оригинальностью альбом и так не блещет. А вот бас... это отдельная тема для разговора. На протяжении всего альбома басист постоянно радует оригинальным веселым раздолбайским стилем игры и весьма необычными решениями. Вокал тоже неплох - что-то среднее между двумя типами трешевого вокала: поросячим визгом (Exodus) и агрессивным чистым пением (Metalica, Megadeath).
Назвать альбом чем-то гениальным, конечно, нельзя - почти все это было сыграно и до них, но все-таки подкупает F&J своей энергетикой, веселыми скоростными пробежками, довольно техничной игрой и духом истинного треша. Приятно послушать временами такое. |

Эх, когда вижу, как подобные группы остаются в тени своих «великих коллег», то становится весьма обидно. Конечно, товарищу Ньюстеду, видимо, выбирать не пришлось, когда он попал в Металику, но ведь его-то композиторский талант... Данный альбом является хорошим примером ещё того старого, олд-скульного трэша, мелодичного и драйвового, с легкими вкраплениями раздолбайства. Этой формуле ребята остались верны надолго, наверное, поэтому их популярность в какой-то момент времени сошла на нет. По стилю, напоминает смесь Metallica и Exodus, некоторые элементы похожи на Overkill. В общем, дух Bay Area тут присутствует.
Из песен хотелось бы выделить «Hammerhead» - мощный боевик, «Iron Tears» - тоже не отстаёт, «Desecrator», баллада-эпик «Doomsday for the Deceiver», «Metalshock», «Der Fuhrer». Все вышеперечисленные вещи (как и остальные), хоть и не особо запоминаются, но энергетика ощущается. На мой взгляд, альбом заслуживает восьмерки. |
