| 1. Consume To Live
living in the greenhouse growing crops that we can't eat
making money out of poverty turning forests into meat
we got our fingers on the trigger of some suicidal gun
the population's getting bigger underneath a dying sun
there's a fire in the furnace and there's nothing lef |

Это прежде всего «Mother Earth», «Days of Dearth», тот же «Paradox».
Threshold Damian Wilson. |

buried waste has reached the surface is there nothing left to learn?
every day ozone getting layered every way life is getting worse
everybody's lung is getting cancer everyone has something more to lose
every country armies are rising every gene splitting into two
every breath monoxide getting stronger every sea whales are beached
economies are growing subsistence life is dead
we can't sustain this growth and things are coming to a head
we gotta learn to climb down the ladder of success
with two feet on the ground we gotta clean up all this mess
there's a fire in the furnace and there's nothing left to burn
buried waste has reached the surface is there nothing left to learn?
every life extinction is forever every town riots in the streets
every sky greenhouse is affecting every tree dying in the breeze
every plant chemical pollution every song relying on the beat
every lake water getting shorter every heart aching for release
surviving in a world of mass production we must all consume to live
our working lives to give and join the unemployment lines
when confidence is low
a man must try to sell his labour to the highest bid
keep his anger hid and try not to get pulled into
the vicious undertow
but even in the middle classes they fall into that hole
aspiring to that goal of rising from the yoke of
such an exploitative state
consume to live
2. Days Of Dearth
modern man has turned his back on old philosophies
lost the spiritual universe and gained reality
worship money, scientists and grim normality
what use are logic, power and wealth with no society
scan the mind stand by earth, give it time your rebirth
when forests become desert and the seas are filled with slime
rivers wash the soil away we still ignore the signs
we must rely on instincts we've left buried in our heads
will rich men eat their money when they've killed the world stone dead?
stand behind the boy king's curse, now we find days of dearth
3. Sanity's End
he's just another victim of the system's bloody knife
a problem evader an escapee of life
a temporary soma not yet prescribed
has stripped him of ego with each lungful imbibed
get your mind-set altered here i will provide you with some fantastic gear
up down sideways forward and back our children submit to lysergic attack
hiding in tantric mesmerized trances
as the warehouse lightshow flickers and dances
synapses snap as his madness advances
leaving him open to paranoid fancies
lost in the garden of fantastic mind
I'm leaving my ego and body behind
trails of false images hang in the air
the smell of strange colours are heard everywhere
over the rainbow and into the light
i'm orbiting slowly, I'm high as a kite
can't remember my name anymore
everything's changed since i opened the door
get out demons get out controlling my brain
freak out healing freak out going insane
hit out feelings hit out cannot explain
reach out reeling reach out calling my name
for twenty-four hours time has no meaning
but several days later kicking and screaming
with delusions of grandeur and one o'clock fit
a family signed section has caught me in the net
can't seem to regain control of my fears
the world's receding and leaving me here
get out demons get out controlling my brain
freak out healing freak out going insane
hit out feelings hit out cannot explain
reach out reeling reach out calling my name
a shot of the hard stuff makes him tranquil and straight
no danger to public, himself or the state
under sedation he won't shed no tears
inwardly tortured by demonic fears
can't remember my name anymore
everything's changed since i opened the door
get out demons get out controlling my brain
freak out healing freak out going insane
hit out feelings hit out cannot explain
reach out reeling reach out calling my name
ravers, gyrators heaving with sweat
have you tried any good ecstasy yet?
if you don't wind up sleeping in gardens of stone
you'll be a new person if you ever get home
for the sake of your sanity, family and friends
leave subconscious travelling to gurus and men
who're prepared for the journey with no beginning or end
cuz a mind that is broken is a hard thing to mend
4. Paradox
he makes big generators chewing up the atmosphere
he learns the secrets of nature then destroys her without fear
see him burning the fruits of his labours
and with joy in his heart digs the graves of those
that he's trying to save oh, self destruction's his aim
see the soil turn to dust see the steel turn to rust
killing all those he loves thanking god up above
the paradox of man the paradox of man
he has colossal power but he's helpless as a lamb
he's a mass of contradiction the paradox of man
and he envies the power of his neighbours
and he still fails to see he's become his own
worst enemy oh, will he ever learn?
see the truth turn to lies see the greed in his eyes
wasting all that remains his soul trapped in chains
the paradox of man the paradox of man
he makes big generators chewing up the atmosphere
he learns the secrets of nature then destroys her without fear
soil turn to dust, can his power ever last?
the chains of his gain, reveal secrets of his past
bitter is his greed, but man will never pay
oh lead me through, lead me through, the faults of his rage
he has colossal power but he's helpless as a lamb
he's a mass of contradiction the paradox of man
5. Surface To Air
i am me i am real free to take part, in the game
but i don't qualify i never helped to write the rules
and if you see me acting strange please don't hurt me with your scorn
i will not comply it's been the same since i was born
the wisdom of the mystics is the devil's own disguise
his fingers flick the tarot deck keep weak ones mesmerized
what twisted minds would hide behind the cult of living death
man and nature so defiled white dove with hawkish head
what a true man feels defines the world's disease
after centuries his blindness can't be healed
the disappearing sands of time are leaving us no trace
what deity would best describe the mighty human race
has vanity dressed up our god in likenesses of man?
when selfishness and greed and lust are all we understand
what a true man feels defines the world's disease
after centuries his blindness can't be healed
i can't philosophize with you when you don't see the things i do
you don't think beyond the fringe of this tiny world you're in
see me dancing on clouds hear me thinking out loud
true believers, jesus freakers, heaven in your hand
self relying, sanctifying, help me understand
eye of the needle, free the people in the desert land
meek inherit, they won't share it, rulers of the sand
6. Mother Earth
between the tumbling of the mountains and the vastness of the sky
lurks a power that we all dream of none of us knows why
she flies into a temper every time she comes awake
lead us not into destruction with the mess that we now make
oh mother earth don't seal our fate
i'm still standing in the light of day
she's the great benign she-wolf who gives breath to every life
she's a builder and destroyer but she will not be sacrificed
she flies into a temper when thunder rapes the skies
our mother and protector through the interstices of time
oh mother earth don't seal our fate
i'm still drowning in ultraviolet rays
but in the temples, where the children play
they've split the atom, turning night-time into day
oh mother earth don't seal our fate
i'm still standing in the light of day
7. Siege Of Baghdad
burning the sands alight way into the air
dark black clouds obscure the sky a twilight of despair
and babylon is overrun by armies of the lord
who cleanse their souls in holy wars and sing in praise of sword
the mighty cross of jerusalem the crescent moon of troy
saracens and noblemen a sport they all enjoy
churning black, the seas awash environmental doom
oil wells are set alight obscure a darkling moon
euphrates valleys overrun by armies of the west
sent by god to claim their prize a black gold treasure chest
the mighty cross of jerusalem the crescent moon of troy
saracens and noblemen a sport they all enjoy
from the cradle of civilisation springs the mother of all wars
a u.n. team of investigation the breaking of all human laws
we will never finish what we started and break the tyrants rule
just like all those old time crusaders we're the only fools
evil takes what evil needs and there ain't no middle way
just like all those christian martyrs we're the ones who'll pay
join the new crusade
8. Keep It With Mine
how can you worry, we've got so much time
the world will keep on spinning and the sun will always shine
if you walk around with both your eyes open
don't let them know your heart is broken
just keep it with mine, just keep it with mine
you may be tired, but you're not so very old
we can make changes to the course of this road
if your keeping your heart and mind open
and never stop wishing and hoping
our children depend on us all
lets teach them to answer the call
time is running fast but we're learning at last
let your heart always shine and keep it with mine
9. Intervention
I was driving through the fens in a peaceful English scene
Paid for by my grandfather the original gunners dream
I was taking life for granted though I was born to die
It's been a long time since a bomb dropped from the expansive Norfolk sky
I was listening to the radio and the talk was all of war
Freed themselves from Tito settling old scores
I was far from Sarejevo it seemed irrelevant to me
If it was U.N. troops or diplomats that had to intervene
We are impotent in our power do we dare to fight again
Must we always kill for freedom what will intervention gain?
It's a symptom of repression and a people held at bay
No freedom of expression waiting for this day
If we impose our standards on a people newly freed
We will be the opressors and the curse of war will breed on
Don't let it breed on
Don't let it breed on
But her cries went right through me
Gripped my heart till I thought that I would die
That little child on the operating table
I had to stop to wipe the tears from my eyes
They had no drugs to comfort her to dull away the pain
As they removed the bloody legacy a cruel shrapnel rain
That had destroyed the lives of the ones she loved
That would shake your faith in the Lord above
And the eyes of the world they are turning away
She had no natural resources to protect her in her play
And the backstreets of her home town
they are burning down in flames
She is part of a new crystal nacht an ethnic cleansing day
We are ignorant we are partisan
We are ignorant we are partisan
