 Итог своего шестилетней и весьма успешной работы с AFM Records Edguy отметили выпуском двух дискового концертного альбома «Burning Down The Opera». Альбом очень неплохо продавался, но как может быть иначе с группой лидер, которой несравненный гений пауэр металла Тобиас Саммет создавший такие широкомасштабные вещи как Avantasia Pt. 1-2, и целых пять альбомов под маркой Edguy за какие-то шесть лет? Ребята решили не останавливаться на достигнутом и выбрать более продвинутый лейбл, которым стал ни кто иной, как Nuclear Blast! Возможно, я несколько и разочарую читателей, но по поводу данного концертника у меня будет несколько критических замечаний, которые достаточно сильно понижают группу в чьих-то ни было глазах. Но сначала о хорошем! Звук у пластинки просто «киллер»! Таких тяжёлых барабанов и жесточайших гитарных риффов, такой энергетики и обжигающего огня не всегда можно найти и на треш металлическом концертнике! Поэтому я легко могу причислить «Burning Down The Opera» к одним из самых лучших зальников в истории металла. Кроме того, он достойно смотрится даже на уровне таких монстров-зальников как «Live Meltdown» от Judas Priest и «Rock In Rio» от Iron Maiden. Что уже говорит об этой группе, как о неординарном коллективе,раз уж она может так мастерски работать перед публикой! Но тут же всплывают несколько неприятных деталей, которые чуть-чуть отодвигают становление зальника в разряд классического. Во-первых, хотя это и можно простить скрипя сердцем – Тобиас Саммет показал, что он великолепный фронтмен, но просто ужасный и жутко слабый певец! Если в начале он как-то еле-еле вытягивает свои же песни, то в конце диска начинает просто говорить, глотая микрофон, да еще, так что его еле слышно из-за той лавины звука, которую создают музыканты. Вторым ещё большим для меня ударом есть непростительно плохо и несправедливо составленный плейлист концерта. Кроме того, что всего-то песен 14, если не брать во внимание открывающую «Welcome To The Opera» и дурацкое драмсоло «Solitary Bunny», так ещё и песни эти подобраны не ахти как. Хорошо конечно, что с «Mandrake» ребята взяли аж пять песен (ИМХО – кажется, переборщили они слегка), причём неплохих, и с «Vain Glory Opera» были подобраны самые ударные треки. Также неплохие композиции поместились из «Theater Of Salvation». Даже парочка из Авантазии влезла – баллада «Inside» и заглавная «Avantasia». Ну а где же композиции из альбомов «The Savage Poetry» и «Kingdom Of Madness»? Как же такие супер альбомы можно было забыть, даже, несмотря на то, что они якобы старые? Что-то я не помню, чтобы Мэйдены хотя бы раз выбросили свой вечный шедевр «Hollowed Be Thy Name»! И даже не спасает положение «Wings Of A Dream» из уже упомянутого «Kingdom Of Madness». В общем как это не горько, но больше оценки в виде нормальной грамотной работы зальник не заслуживает никак. Надеюсь, мы ещё их услышим в живую… |
