 Восьмой альбом англичан, похоже, решил снова свести с ума всех поклонников группы. В диске просто напрочь отсутствует какая-либо изюминка - совершенно стандартные риффы и мелодии. И этот стандарт сквозит прямо-таки во всём – начиная от техники исполнения, доходя до музыки и текстов. На моей памяти Саксон - это одна из самых редчайших групп, которые умудрялись написать кучу проходных альбомов и при том оставаться на ходу. Интересный факт - в записи альбома поучаствовал Элтон Джон, а именно в песнях «Party 'Til You Puke» и «Northern Lady» можно услышать ненавязчивые и лёгенькие партии фортепьяно его работы. Несмотря на очень средний статус данной пластинки, Саксонцы отправляются в турне со шведским мастером гитары и легендой неоклассического металла Ингви Малмстином и его Rising Force. Качество записи альбома не нуждается в упоминании, поскольку Саксон никогда в этом плане не лажал. Вокал отлично звучит, не показывая даже намёка на старость. В качестве синглов были выбраны такие композиции: заглавная средне темповая «Rock the Nation», более быстрая «Waiting For The Night» и баллада «Northern Lady» , также на них были сняты клипы. Если охарактеризовать упомянутые вещи более детально, то на ум ничего не приходит кроме обозначения их полными пустышками, ибо ни уму, ни сердцу они ничего не несут. Вот так вот худо-бедно одни из основателей новой волны британского хэви металла подкармливали фанов на протяжении трёх лет, кидаясь высокопарными фразами не то раскачать, не то замучить беззубым и скучным роком нацию. Позор, ничего не скажешь... |
