Это второе творение сайд-проекта Эрика Петерсона. Не смотря на определенный скептицизм части металлического сообщества, «Black Wings of Destiny» продолжает радовать слушателей качественным материалом. В группе произошла лишь одна замена, вместо ушедшего ДиДжорджио, за бас теперь отвечает двоюродный брат Эрика Петерсона Деррик Рамирез. Он известен тем, что был участником первого состава Testament. Главное направление удара этих американских любителей скандинавского варианта black metal не изменилось. Мы слышим прекрасно записанный и аранжированный высококачественный симфо-блэк с элементами трэша. Звук альбома, как мне кажется, стал более объемным и мощным против дебютника. Мощь во многом достигнута за счет улучшения записи ударных и баса, и их выдвижения вперед в музыкальной палитре саунда группы. Партии клавишных и на прошлом альбоме были великолепными, ну а здесь они просто потрясают своей мелодичностью и органичностью. Группа не сделала какого-то кардинального движения вперед, но однозначно поработала над развитием проповедуемого стиля, сделав его более доступным для восприятия. Завершающей композицией альбома является кавер-версия песни Thin Lizzy «Emerald». Меньше девяти поставить не могу. |
