 В 1989 году вышел третий альбом христианских металлистов, который стал последним для вокалиста Майка Ли. Всего год назад прогремел альбом "Atomic Arena", который стал успехом для группы, и на волне этого успеха и был выпущен "State Of Control". Как и на втором лонгплее, этот альбом радует качественным и жестким саундом с упором на отрывистые, резкие гитарные партии и твердую ритм-секцию. Вокал Майка Ли все так же агрессивен и теперь чуть меньше напоминает Брюса Дикинсона из Iron Maiden, у него сформировался собственный стиль пения. Особых изменений не наблюдается и в музыке: все тот же жестковатый хэви метал с приятными мелодичными моментами и хитовыми песнями, а также с христианскими текстами в некоторых вещах. К несомненным успехам группы на этом альбоме можно отнести мощные хэви-боевики "State Of Control" и "Out Of Time", шикарную тяжелую балладу "Cryin' Over You" с очень грустным текстом, прогрессивно-трэш-металлическую "The Stage Of Intensity" (такого раньше они не делали!) и меланхоличный закрывающий медляк, исполненный на фортепиано "Your Love Gives". Остальные вещи вполне на уровне, неплохой качественный хэви, который выделяется в основном за счет прекрасного вокала Майка Ли и очень жестких гитар. В целом, "State Of Control" характеризуется более спокойной атмосферой по сравнению с "Atomic Arena", хотя и хитовости тоже немного поубавилось, а вот доли христианства в текстах, наоборот, прибавилось. Но тем не менее, альбом оставляет после себя очень хорошее впечатление даже после мощнейшего релиза "Atomic Arena". Настоящий хэви метал, который для всех любителей жанра наверняка не станет разочарованием. |
